Finding Intimacy with God

HEAVEN BOUND is a three-session conference and retreat program utilizing riveting, true stories from the Oregon Trail to inspire women to pursue a more intimate relationship with God. (A fourth session can be added if desired.)

Each session begins with a visit from Maggie, a young bride whose future stretched out before her as clear as the blue skies over her Kentucky farm – until her husband caught the fever. Oregon Fever! Soon she was forced to let go of everything she knew and loved to follow her husband in his pursuit of the Promised Land out West. Maggie’s experiences on the brutal Oregon Trail will inspire both laughter and tears as she shares life-changing lessons in which she learned not only the secret of her grandmother’s teapot. but ultimately, the secret to intimacy with God.

Session 1: Letting go

Interference to an intimate relationship with God comes from three main directions: our possessions. our plans and our problems. This session will provide participants with practical tips for letting go of the physical and emotional clutter in their life and grabbing onto Christ.

Session 2: Pressing On

Certain habits and attitudes can become such an integral part of our life we are scarcely aware of how much they complicate and confuse our walk with God. Session two defines these hindrances and gives specific helps on how to leave behind our past chains and press on toward the goal to which God is calling us.

Session 3: Claiming the Prize

The benefits of letting go and persist on toward the ultimate prize of eternal life are limitless and thrilling! In this final session we’ll consider some of the most enticing prizes: those that give purpose to our past pain, those that enhance present-day life and especially, the prizes awaiting us in the future.
