Every Sunday after joining their folks for praise and worship, kids at NUBF head to Sunday School where they have their own Kid-Sized Bible time.

Learning, snacks, music and crafts are all part of the experience.

Our dedicated teachers are enthusiastic, mature believers who have your child’s best interests at heart.

Sunday School at NUBF is sure to be a time that will engage, inspire and satisfy.

NUBF WELLNESS POLICY

For the health of all the children please do not bring to or leave your child in Sunday School if in the last 24 hours they have had:

A temperature of 101 degrees F or more.

Vomiting or severe diarrhea.

A non-clear discharge from the nose or eyes.

Any rash or skin condition unless deemed non-contagious.

On Sunday, we have excellent care available for our little ones.

Our list of nursery helpers is impressive. There are nannys, daycare providers, as well as experienced mothers and grandmothers.

They care for our precious little ones so parents can enjoy church services without worry or distraction.

The children are checked in and checked out, provided with snacks and a variety of toys and comforted with loving arms.

Every adult volunteer has been hand picked and we have also performed a background check just to make sure that parents can know their children are safe.

Communion, often called “The Lord’s Supper” (or “The Eucharist” in more traditional churches), is a simple ceremony commemorating the “Last Supper” that Jesus shared with His disciples shortly before He was crucified.  (Luke 22:14-20)

As New Testament believers, we are called to share this Communion as a reminder that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for our sins.

We remember our Savior’s great sacrifice by sharing a bit of bread and a sip of juice, reminiscent of His body and blood that was given for us. (1 Corinthians 11:23-25)

If you’ve never been to Communion at NUBF, or if this will be your first time ever, this is what it looks like:

Following the sermon, we pray and sing a song. The bread and juice are made available in the front and the back of the room. After the song is finished we read a bit of Scripture and eat the bread; read a bit more and then drink the juice.

This may seem strange, even insignificant, but like the Gospel itself, it is the beauty of simplicity.

At NUBF, we celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of the month.

We have an “open communion”. In other words, anyone who has believed in Jesus for eternal life is welcome to join us.

It doesn’t matter if you are a regular visitor, if you’re passing through or you’ve just dropped in for the first time.

We think it’s fitting that we should celebrate together that which has brought us together: our common faith in Jesus.

New Testament believers are never commanded to tithe.

Matthew 22:15-22 and Romans 13:1-7 tell us about the only required giving in the church age, which is the paying of taxes to the government.

People who entrust their lives to Jesus Christ do not worry about whether tithing is commanded in the New Testament.

People who are being transformed by Christ to be more like Christ are generous.

They want to give as much as possible to support the gospel and to provide for the poor.

Christians should give generously — but giving is a result of their relationship with God, not a way to earn it.

We are given grace through faith, not through tithing.

The guideline for our giving to God and His work is found in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7: “Now this I say, he who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully.

Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Baptism is a cornerstone of our Christian faith.

North Umpqua Bible Fellowship practices believer’s baptism by immersion.

We do not regard baptism as necessary for salvation, but instead see it this way:  As an outward sign of the inward change that has already taken place; as an act of obedience to our Lord and Savior; and as a public declaration of faith in Jesus.

NUBF schedules a baptism celebration during the summer each year. If you missed this year’s outing, we’re always willing to perform baptisms whenever the need arises.

All believers are welcome.

CHILDREN’S DEDICATION

We believe children are a gift from God.

We do not baptize infants or children too young to make a decision for Christ.

But we do have a simple dedication ceremony we can perform as part of the Sunday Service.

Child dedication is a public commitment you make before God, your church, and your family, and a solemn commitment we as a church make to you.

The congregation joins the pastor in asking God to help us watch over, guide, and  protect your child as they grow up; and provides you, the parent(s), an opportunity to express publicly your desire to lead and spiritually nurture your child in cooperation with the Holy Spirit, so your child will develop a desire to love God and love others.
