Happy Summer Sweet Friends!

It’s always hard to believe that the end of the year is already here. I hope you get to enjoy some sunny skies, yummy food and good friends this summer. So far the sunny skies have not quite made it back to the UK, but I am still holding out hope. My summer recipe recommendation, is a simple summer British Classic (two ingredients), Strawberries and Cream. Have some and think of me!!

The spring has been full but also very sweet. It was incredible to get to go back again to Moria again this year on our GAIN and Student Life Project. So many things have changed in camp since we first started going. There have been great improvements, but there is still much help needed. Please continue to pray for more housing. Conditions continue to be overcrowded in camp. And also please continue to pray for hope for those seeking refuge. It can be so very discouraging to be stuck in a process that is hard to understand and feels like nobody cares. I have been so grateful for these opportunities to go with students and to serve in Moria. This year one of our London students who I have known since I first got here came with us. It was super sweet to see her take such a big faith step. We were encouraged to hear that they are seeing many come to faith at Moria and also considering faith in Jesus.

In the fall I was meeting with a friend of mine and we were talking about my role and he asked me something that was super helpful. He said “when you think about your role Nicole, What are you trying to cause?” It really helped me think about how I want to invest in and impact our team leaders here in the UK. What I want to do is:  To help leaders find their voice, so that they are able to thrive by leading out of who they are, and that their leadership would inspire new generations to love and follow Jesus. It has been refreshing for me to think about what I am doing through this lens, because I want to see these leaders flourish by leading out of who they were made to be, not who they think they should be.  Continue to pray for me for wisdom to keep investing well in our staff.

One of my highlights this year, has been seeing all of our London Staff across our different ministries, coming together to ask, how can we impact the whole city for Jesus? We are far from having an answer to this, but I am encouraged that we are seeking greater and greater ways to collaborate and partner with one another, with local churches, and in our communities. Pray that the Lord would give us insight as we ask him to show us where he is at work.

With Love, Nicole
