Nicole Lewis – February Update

Happy New Year!

I pray this little update finds you well in 2019, I am finding it hard to believe that January has already flown by so quickly. I spent a very Merry Christmas with my sweet Mom in London. We took in all of the beautiful lights up around the city, had our fill of Fish and Chips and spent some fun days with friends around the UK. Thanks for praying for our time together it was so nice to have her here.

At the beginning of the month we had our annual Student Life Staff Retreat. It’s always so good to all be together, we eat well, laugh a lot and spend some time refreshing our Souls in Jesus as we start a New Year. One morning I was out walking and thinking about the coming year, and as I walked this prayer rose up within me “Lord this year, may I have hands that release and a Heart that receives.” I don’t know all the ways in which the Lord wants to work through that prayer, but I want to be open handed with my life, with our ministry, and with the women I get to walk alongside of and develop. And to have a heart that receives..I don’t know about you but I struggle to receive from others and the Lord, and I would love to grow in that this year.

Tomorrow is our National Student Conference “Fireseeds.” It runs from Friday until Sunday. This year we have changed things up quite a bit, but I think the conference is going to be so good. Would you please be in prayer for the students who will come from all around the UK, that this weekend would be one of those moments where Jesus just grips their hearts and that they would long to walk with him for a lifetime. One of the students I am hoping to see is the young woman I told you about who is now our new Student Leader at one of the campuses we helped to launch in the fall. This past week I got a message saying that she led one of her friends to faith, which is just so incredible. I pray, that this would multiply across the UK, students who are walking faithfully with Jesus and pointing others to him.

At the end of the month we are hoping to run our London Women Speak Out Campaign again. We have some students who are really excited to run it this year. Our big prayer request is for rooms on campus that we can rent to use to take the photos of the students. Since we are not registered as a student society this year on some of our campuses right now, it will be complicated to get a space, but pray the Lord would provide a place for us.
