Fall Follow-Up!

Here’s some good news for you~

God is real and His promises are true and unfailing.

I just re-read the last update from August and am refreshingly encouraged by how God has been answering those prayer requests you prayed/have been praying for! Makes sense how scripture exhorts us over and over to remember who God is and remember all that He has done– so that we face what is yet to come with faith in God’s unchanging character and goodness.

So here are a few things He’s been doing!

Ignite Youth group now has small group Bible studies for middle school boys, high school boys, and a group for girls. I’m really encouraged how God has provided competent women leaders for the girls small group!  Josh is continuing to lead a Christian club at a local high school during lunch time on Wednesdays, and there are a few key youth students who are taking their faith personally and seriously.

Pray for the upcoming Dare 2 Share Live event on Oct 13– that more students would personally commit their lives to Jesus as Lord and be a part of transforming their schools, teams, and families.

Challenge at SDSU

Starting from the core team retreat back in August, the core team students have, in faith, stepped up and out of their comfort zones, and wow we’ve seen God doing incredible things.

What I love is seeing a person give God a chance to be God. Stepping out in faith, doing what He says to do– and I’m talking when it doesn’t make sense, when it’s hard, when you don’t want to at all– obeying because Jesus is Lord. What happens is that….God shows up! Often this lightbulb just clicks on in that person’s life…”Oh!! God will actually do what He says He will do! He actually is who He says He is!” That is just the best best best thing to see.

Pray for that! Pray that for Josh and I, and for the students and for yourself and for every believer who claims the name of Jesus. May we each live in surrender to Jesus as Lord of our whole lives. God will show up. We will see Him do what He’s been waiting for us to give Him opportunity to do!  

Coming up is the Fall Discipleship Conference Oct 19-21 and this is a key time for students to grow in their faith or to learn what it means to have faith. We’re praying for more guys to get come and get connected.

International Friendship Night 

Pray with us for continued opportunities to build relationships with international students~ and cool answer to prayer is that God brought us opportunity to partner with a campus ministry called Destino, which is the Latino side of Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ)  So students from Destino will be joining us for outreach and the event this week. Awesome to partner together to reach more and different kinds of international students! 

Also coming up for us, Josh and I will be attending a conference by the Gospel Coalition with our church’s pastor and wife. We’re excited for a couple days away together resting and receiving from awesome speakers and workshop leaders.
